At the age of six, Calvin commenced learning the piano and subsequently completed his Grade 8 Piano and Grade 5 Theory examinations at the age of 17. During his high school years, Calvin also won several piano competitions, music awards and a music scholarship for his musical prowess and continued to develop and explore his music through song writing and learning the guitar.
Since then, Calvin he recorded two compilation CD's, completed further music studies at Monash University and established himself as one of Melbourne's most sought after professional pianists for weddings and functions.
Calvin Leung now performs regularly in Melbourne and is the resident pianist at the exclusive members-only RACV City Club on Bourke Street. He has previously held residencies at The Windsor Hotel and performed at premier venues, which include The Melbourne Arts Centre and Montsalvat. A highlight of Calvin's career has been performing his original songs at the Royal Melbourne Show at Flemington in 2009.
Aside from teaching and performing, Calvin is also a composer and songwriter having written music for emerging recording artists and commercial TV.
As a music educator and piano teacher, Calvin strives to inspire and motivate his students to practice! He strongly believes that finding a piano teacher who is passionate about sharing their knowledge is the key to successfully learning the piano.
